The AHL released the 2012 Clear day lists this morning, highlighting the players eligible to play the last month of the season and the playoffs. The only real surprise was the omission of Willie Coetzee from the final list. The speedy winger got off to a great start this season before losing his spot in the lineup and becoming a frequent scratch. He is listed as being in residence along with Thomas McCollum and Bryan Rufenach, meaning they can be used if someone on the list is injured or recalled. The latter is a likely scenario with the sudden rash of injuries on the parent Red Wings. The team is also able to add amateur players after their junior or college season's end, a common occurence the last few years for the Griffins which have previewed the talents of players like Gustav Nyquist, Brian Lashoff and Landon Ferraro to name a few.
