2007 Griffins Clear Day Roster
Filppula on final list - Langfeld off...

The AHL released the teams Clear Day Roster this morning, listing the players who are eligible to play for the rest of the season. There were a few surprises on the Griffins list, the most notable being the presence of Valtteri Filppula's name. The Finnish forward has been with the parent Red Wings most of the season, but would certainly be welcomed back if Detroit was eliminated from the playoffs. Rookie defenseman Tom Galvin beat out fellow Fury alumni Jon Insana for the seventh blueliner spot on the list. Josh Langfeld's name was absent from the list, indicating that the team doesn't expect him back from Detroit this season. Jamie Tardif and Insana are listed as being in residence, meaning they are in reserve if an emergency condition arises due to recall, injury, or suspension. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, after their respective junior or college seasons are over. Star defender Jakub Kindl with Kitchener of the OHL, and speedy left wing Darren Helm with Medicine Hat (WHL) are two such players likely to join the Griffins when their teams are eliminated from the playoffs.
