Organizational Comments:"I think he played a huge factor for us the first 2/3rds of the season helping us with the transition of losing some of our veteran D., and being one of our go-to guys, and played in all situations. He plays solid D, physical, gritty, either side of the puck, and yet he can also add offense and play on your powerplay. He's a very well liked player, he's got a great future ahead of him, and I think he is just going to get better as he gets more confidence and more playing time." Griffins Head Coach Greg Ireland |
What GRC says: 2007-08: Quincey rebounded from a slow start to play his best stretch of hockey as a pro the second half. After a trip to Detroit, the physical blueliner tuned up his game, meshing his physical edge with some offensive mojo, missing since his rookie season. One of the biggest improvements in his game down the stretch was his consistency, in effort, intensity and results on the ice. Kyle is out of options, and is likely to snag the last defensive spot in Detroit next season. 2006-07: Whether from injuries or an inconsistent lineup, Kyle's game dropped a notch after the first of year. Inconsistency and defensive lapses marred some pretty good stretches of play for the physical defenseman. He still has the skills, but just doesn't seem to put them together every game. That being said he was one of the more effective blueliner's on the Griffins, and was recalled to Detroit at the end of the season where he scored his first NHL goal. 2005-06: Kyle was slow to recover from a concussion suffered around the New Year, but he recovered to play some pretty exciting hockey for a rookie blueliner. He had some ugly numbers in the playoffs, but his normal defensive partner (Lebda) may have been the cause for a large part of that. Quincey played beyond his experience most of the season and should pick it up another notch next season. |
