What GRC says: 2009-10: The captain did it all this season, playing on every line and in all situations. He scored some big goals on the powerplay and stopped some big ones on the penalty kill. When the team needed some muscle he dropped the gloves and took on the other team's thugs. He played his hard working, honest, gritty, game every night, every shift and set an example for the rest of the team. 2008-09: Tardif plays a complete game and does all of the little things needed to win. He battles in the tough areas of the ice, bangs along the boards, creates turnovers on the forecheck, and generally irritates the opposing players. The biggest thing missing this season was his offense. The gritty winger could not buy a goal in the second half, going 21 games without bulging the twine. A serious knee injury cost him the last 6 weeks of the season, but he made a miraculous return for the playoffs, notching a pair of goals and showing no ill effects.
2007-08: Tardif kept up his strong play down the stretch, playing a solid, consistent, all-around game. He can provide offense, kill penalties, work the powerplay, and even drop the gloves if need be. A great utility player, Jamie played all three forward positions at times, and saw time everywhere from the first line to the third. A big scorer in junior, Tardif needs to work on his speed to take the next step in his development.
2006-07: Former training camp tryout was thrust into a prominent role after being signed from the ECHL. He responded by putting up a seven game scoring streak (7-2-9) including a hat trick to establish himslef as a capable player. As players returned to the lineup and he found his ice time reduced, he still contributed with his hitting and aggressive play. Jamie suffered a back injury at the end of the season that cost him his spot in the lineup, but may have played well enough to return next season.
Winter 2006: Tardif looked good in the Griffins camp, and has played well in the ECHL, meaning he could add some pop to the offense. He has had two auditions in the AHL this season with Iowa and Manitoba, now could be his shot to prove he can play at this level. |
