| Detroit opened camp with 50 players on the roster, 5 goalies, 18 defenseman, and 27 forwards. Notable new faces in camp included future 50 goal scorer Danny Grant, first round pick Bill Lochead, and rookie phenom Michel Bergeron. Besides the parent club, players were placed with one of three farm clubs, Virginia (AHL), Kalamazoo (IHL), or Hampton (SHL). |
