What GRC says: Summer 2018 A 2018 Hobey Baker finalist, Yates is a nice blend of size and skating and has worked hard to increase his speed and strength. His father Ross played as a pro, so he has good bloodlines and knows what it takes to be a pro. Played on a well balanced Cornell team, which make his low scoring totals deceiving. Uses his size wel, and can blow by or blow through defenders to get to the net. He is probably ticketed to start the season in Toledo (ECHL), but it would not be surprising to see him garner time with the Griffins.
